Emily Gordon began her career as an educator in 2009 teaching courses in social justice, ethics, and biblical studies while leading diversity, community service, and global experiential learning initiatives. In 2018, Emily changed focus to development and accepted a role as Assistant Director for the Rice Annual Fund at Rice University. In 2020, she joined the Houston Museum of Natural Science development team as Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts, before being promoted to Head of Annual Fund and Individual Giving in 2021.
At TCG, Emily contributes in-depth knowledge of individual giving at all stages of the donor pathway: annual fund, major gifts, and planned giving. She has a strong writing background and extensive experience with presentations and public speaking.
A firm believer in the importance of lifelong learning, Emily is a student in the first cohort of South Texas College of Law's part-time online program. She is a photographer dedicated to working with families with special needs, and she is a dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church, Houston. Emily's primary areas of interest in fundraising are education, mental health, the arts, and direct services organizations.
