WHITNEY
KUHN LAWSON
SENIOR CONSULTANT, COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA RELATIONS

Whitney Kuhn Lawson began her career in public relations and communications in 2004 while attending The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). She wrote for the school newspaper and a local magazine while also holding an internship in corporate communications for FedEx at their headquarters in Memphis, TN. Following graduation, Whitney moved to Washington, D.C. in 2008 where she held various roles in public and media relations ranging from: traffic and marketing manager at The National Law Journal, to George Stephanopoulos’s publicist at ABC News, to managing both internal and external communications for Willis Towers Watson amid legacy firm mergers. After half a decade in Washington, Whitney moved to New York City where she served as a senior publicist at CBS News. When her tenure in network news concluded, Whitney moved to heavy-hitting PR firm, Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis, where she was a senior member of the entertainment division with a specific focus on: film, television, and celebrity/talent relations. Following a six-year tenure in the big apple, Whitney, a native of San Antonio, moved to Houston with her husband, Marc, in 2017.

Once settled back in the Lone Star State, she served as the Houston office General Manager at Allied Global Marketing handling regional publicity for most major film studios and streaming platforms. Then, Whitney moved to global agency Hill & Knowlton Strategies (a subsidiary of WPP) where she provided senior communications counsel for a range of clients, spanning: corporate, non-profit, healthcare, tech, automotive, retail, and Fortune 500 companies. Continuing her stint at agencies, Whitney joined another NYC-based firm, M Booth, remotely as Vice President of Media where she led day-to-day media relations for Procter & Gamble and Patron Tequila, among others.

Whitney joined Trevino Consulting Group in 2023 where she helps a wide range of clients by highlighting the best of an individual, company, organization, etc., while diligently working to spread their mission and message both locally and nationally. Wearing many hats is something she excels at, and her work allows her to do this, knowing no two days will be the same. Whether it’s at work as a PR and communications executive, to a mom of two young children, to participating and supporting a myriad of local and national organizations, Whitney puts a heavy emphasis on always leading with truth and integrity while paying it forward in whatever capacity she can.
