AMY MARKS,
CFRE
PROSPECT RESEARCHER
Amy began her career in development at the University of New Mexico (UNM) as a student who called alumni to solicit Annual Fund support. Success in that role eventually garnered Amy a full-time employment offer at the UNM Foundation upon graduation. Amy relocated from Albuquerque to Houston to take on her first director-level role, Director of Annual Giving at the University of Houston, in 2008. Her service there included establishing the first student and young alumni fundraising role and the ideation and execution of the Cougar Spirit Cord program, which lives on today. A few years later, Amy was leading Advancement Services, with oversight of prospect research, gift administration, reporting and analytics, and a single data management platform supporting the UH System level. In 2015, Amy shifted her focus over to Houston Public Media’s membership program. In 2017, Amy became Space Center Houston’s first Membership Manager, overseeing the reinvention of the center’s membership program. With nearly 30 years of experience in annual fund development, membership, prospect relationship management, and development systems, Marks has a passion for data-driven, integrated multi-channel direct marketing.
Living the suburban life closer to Galveston beaches than downtown Houston, Marks is a mother of two STEM-enthusiastic young adults and loves to spend time outdoors with her significant other and two playful dogs.
